Non-specific Lipid Transfer Proteins in Legumes and Their Participation During Root-Nodule Symbiosis

چکیده

Non-specific lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) constitute a large protein family in plants characterized by having tunnel-like hydrophobic cavity, which allows them to different molecules. LTPs have been studied various model including those of agronomic interest. Recent studies demonstrated that play key functions both biotic and abiotic stress. In plants-pathogen interaction, they act as either positive or negative regulators defense responses. However, little is known about the roles symbiotic interactions, especially root nodule symbiosis. Here, we performed broad genome analysis LTP members legumes other important plants, focusing on their possible legume-rhizobium silico showed contain families, with at least 70 clustered into four clades. Although structures genes are conserved among species, differences were observed between clades from species. widely expressed plant tissues. general, LTP1 LTP2 classes highly shoot reproductive tissues all analyzed Furthermore, also roots inoculated rhizobia nodules legumes. RT-qPCR expression profile seven PvLTP common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris ) revealed these differentially during early late stages nodulation genetically regulated PvRbohA . These findings provide insight putative symbiosis interactions RBOH-dependent ROS production.

Hormonal Control of Lateral Root and Nodule Development in Legumes

Many plants can establish symbioses with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, some of which lead to nodulation, including legumes. Indeed, in the rhizobium/legume symbiosis, new root organs, called nodules, are formed by the plant in order to host the rhizobia in protective conditions, optimized for nitrogen fixation. In this way, these plants can benefit from the reduction of atmospheric dinitrogen into ...

Symbiosis between Frankia and actinorhizal plants: root nodules of non-legumes.

In actinorhizal symbioses, filamentous nitrogen-fixing soil bacteria of the genus Frankia induce the formation of nodules on the roots of a diverse group of dicotyledonous plants representing trees or woody shrubs, with one exception, Datisca glomerata. In the nodules, Frankia fixes nitrogen and exports the products to the plant cytoplasm, while being supplied with carbon sources by the host. P...

Recruitment of novel calcium-binding proteins for root nodule symbiosis in Medicago truncatula.

Legume rhizobia symbiotic nitrogen (N2) fixation plays a critical role in sustainable nitrogen management in agriculture and in the Earth's nitrogen cycle. Signaling between rhizobia and legumes initiates development of a unique plant organ, the root nodule, where bacteria undergo endocytosis and become surrounded by a plant membrane to form a symbiosome. Between this membrane and the encased b...

Non-specific lipid transfer proteins in plants: presenting new advances and an integrated functional analysis.

Plant non-specific lipid-transfer proteins (nsLTPs) are small, basic proteins present in abundance in higher plants. They are involved in key processes of plant cytology, such as the stablization of membranes, cell wall organization, and signal transduction. nsLTPs are also known to play important roles in resistance to biotic and abiotic stress, and in plant growth and development, such as sex...
